Two weeks ago one of my best friends and I jetted off to Brussels and Cologne to visit the famous Christmas markets. We fell in love.
I’m not sure I can ever visit either of these cities again simply because the Christmas cheer was contagious throughout both. I don’t think the same charm and allure would be present outside of the Christmas months. The lust I have for both of these cities is similar to the butterflies you feel on the first and second date with someone. By the tenth date, those butterflies start to subside and I think this would happen if I visited these cities outside of the Christmas season.
Both cities have markets gushing with various homemade goodies and treats and we drank and ate our weight in mulled wine, pretzels, beer, and candied nuts. More on each of these cities in future blogs, but for now enjoy the pictures! Hopefully, it will convince you that visiting Europe during the Christmas season is one of the best times to visit this region of the world.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Boots, not Roots family! Maybe next year we’ll see you in beautiful Europe to experience the amazing Christmas markets.
Happy Trekking!
